Biography

Eugene Brown Jr. began his legal career in Alameda County, California, as a deputy District Attorney. In 1980, he joined a prominent Oakland civil defense firm, representing insureds in a variety of matters, as well as public entities in government tort claims actions, civil rights, police misconduct, and employment related litigation. That practice grew nationally, into one including the representation of major corporations in mass tort, multi-party, product liability, petro-chemical, and complex commercial litigation.

  • Defense of major domestic and foreign auto manufacturers in major catastrophic injury and product defect claims.
  • Defense of recreational equipment manufacturers.
  • Defense of oil, gas, and chemical manufacturers

Personal Injury

  • Defense of multiple cases related to chemical, gas and oil exposures in the work place.
  • Defense of multiple cases involving chemical exposures and claimed birth defects.
  • Claims for personal injury/wrongful death related to auto/truck collisions, and claimed product defects.
  • Defense of mass/public transit agencies in major injury e.g. loss of limb, quadriplegia claims.

Trials

  • In excess of 150 complex jury trials. Evaluated and resolved pretrial, literally thousands of civil disputes involving claims related to employment, personal injury, contract, commercial litigation.
